Stuart Franklin has been a professional photographer since 1981 when he left school having been offered a position as photographer on a local newspaper in Leicestershire. Having always had a passion for sports he decided to combine this with his love of photography and has spent the last 30 years covering sports events around the globe. These events have included various summer and winter Olympic Games, European championship and world cup football as well as world championships in athletics and swimming. In addition he has also covered all grand slam tennis tournaments as well as major golf championships around the world.

Golf has been a large part of his career and he is recognized by peers and players as being at the top of his profession. His work is regular seen on European Tour, PGA Tour and many of the world´s golfing magazines and websites. Football also plays a significant part of his shooting time and he works often for UEFA; DFB, DFL and FIFA.

Commercially his clients include Nike and Adidas, Mizuno, Taylor Made and Rolex along with many others. His work has been published in all major sports and non-sports publications around the globe.

Having joined Getty Images after the Sydney Olympics in 2000 he chose to move to Hamburg, Germany in early 2001 where he lives today.

Represented by
